Kirsten comes to Fort Lupton from Colorado Springs where she was the Associate Pastor at Sunrise United Methodist Church for seven years. Prior to being called to full-time ministry, Kirsten had a career in banking and also worked for the non-profit organization Up with People. She believes these experiences gave her helpful skills for the ministry. A graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky, she has a passion for helping people to encounter the transformational power of Jesus Christ in their lives. Kirsten and her husband, Tom (also an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church), have a heart for rescued dogs and their special needs. Children and Youth Ministry - Wendy Sarazen
I am Wendy Sarazen the Children and Youth Ministries Director at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Lupton. I have been a youth group leader, Sunday school teacher and also had the pleasure of teaching Christian Life Club, CLC for a short time before my employment at the church. Knowing and understanding how important it is for our children and youth to have a better understanding of their Christian faith, has led me to take my job very serious. I would like to see that our children and youth learn and understand the importance of not only being a Christian but what it truly means to live as one, so they are able to take it out into our community. This is very important to me and even a bigger priority when I think of how many children and youth who have no positive loving Christian role model in their life. My hope is that we can be that for each and every one of them. To me it doesn’t matter if I see them only at youth group, CLC or Sunday school just as long as I see them and they know they are loved just as they are!
In His Love, Wendy Sarazen
